![]() ![]() In each forest you will find a giant mushroom tree, and if you swim around the base of it you will eventually find entrances to the cave systems underneath both separate trees. The Eastern Mushroom Forest is bordered by the Koosh Zone (AKA the Bulb Zone.) The Western Mushroom Forest is the one that is bordered by the dunes and the Northern Blood Kelp Zone. A lot of people don't realize that there are TWO giant mushroom trees, one in EACH of the mushroom forests. ![]() On the wiki it says that the fourth egg is in the caves underneath the giant mushroom tree in the mushroom forest. Here's where a lot of confusion about the number of eggs comes in. To make sure that you know the difference, here are screenshots of what the Dunes Impact Crater looks like.Ībove: Image of the Dunes Meteor Impact Crater (this is not the location of the egg.)īelow: Image of the meteor at the center of the crater ( still not the egg location.) I'm going to repeat this many times: The Dunes Impact Crater is Not The Location of the Egg. The egg's location is between the two large vents pictured above. There are two large vents surrounded by several small vents. These two photos below are the Dunes Sinkhole, the actual location of the egg.Ībove: Image of the Dunes Sinkhole, with two visibly distinct large thermal vents.īelow: Image of the vents inside the Dunes Sinkhole. To make sure you know the difference, here are screenshots (sorry for bad quality) of the Dunes Sinkhole. The egg can be found next to the glowing plant between the two large thermal vents. The Dunes Sinkhole is very close to a reaper leviathan, and it has two large thermal vents inside it, surrounded by several small vents. Lots of people think that the Dunes Sinkhole is the same as the Dunes Crater. Shortly after this, the Ampeel will flee. The egg location is the dunes sinkhole, NOT the dunes impact crater. When the Ampeel is attacked, it will turn around and attack back by either zapping the attacker or biting it, much like a Boneshark. The Ampeel can also attack the Prawn Suit dealing 7% damage, it should be noted though that Ampeels are not likely to attack the Prawn Suit having to get almost within biting range before attacking. Ampeels are one of the few creatures that can deal damage to a Cyclops, though the damage they deal is minimal and it takes several attacking at once to pose any real threat to the vessel. A better defensive tool to use would be the Stasis Rifle, Repulsion Cannon, or a Torpedo System. The Seamoth Perimeter Defense System has no effect on an Ampeel, likely due to the fact that it uses electricity itself. The Ampeel's electricity can severely damage a Seamoth. It then may try to zap or bite the player. The Ampeel will enter an aggressive state when the player approaches it, generating an electrical barrier that surrounds its entire body by using all of its prongs at once. It generates electrical arcs that run along its body, from head to tail. Because of this, not only would it be unlikely for them to generate a current on land, but it also allows them to activate the circuits at will, by generating a slightly larger current to "kickstart" the system, and make visible arcs of shocking power.Īmpeels swim around passively and frequently re-orientate themselves to swim in another direction. This electrical current is most likely generated by a natural unfinished circuit, and with the addition of water as a means to close the circuit and generate electric arcs from prong to prong. The prongs are a brownish-red in color, green towards the bases with bright white tips, these emit a very bright cyan bioluminescent glow, and are capable of generating electricity. Its mouth has many small teeth.Įach body segment has four prongs situated 90 degrees apart, except its end segment, where there are four prongs extending out posteriorly. It has two turquoise eyes sitting in hollows in the otherwise smooth head. The Ampeel's head segment has six prongs, four being placed in line with the prongs on the body segments, with an additional pair located on either side of the creature's mouth. The body is composed of a head segment, eight body segments, and a tail segment. Their dorsal side is dull green in color, while the underbelly is light tan. ![]() Ampeels are huge, serpentine creatures with a segmented body, covered with prongs capable of generating powerful zaps of bio-electricity. ![]()
